1. Introduction

Thank you for downloading the Parallels Helm 4.2.0 Hotfix 1. This file contains information that supplements the Parallels Helm 4.2.0 documentation such as information on new features, corrected bugs, known problems etc. This file was updated with the latest information available at release time.

2. Installation Instructions

Please download the Parallels Helm 4.2.0 Hotfix 1 installation package at http://helm.download.webhostautomation.net/Helm420BetaSetup.exe and follow the installation instructions according to the Parallels Helm 4.2.0 documentation: http://www.parallels.com/en/products/helm/docs/ in the Installation and Configuration section.

3. Upgrade Instructions

4.2.0 to 4.2.0 Hotfix 1 Upgrade

  1. Launch the Configuration Tool.

  2. Tab to Software Updates, check Beta Mode, and click Update Now.

  3. If anything goes wrong, check the install.log file located in the Helm installation directory.

The Hotfix is aimed at migrating from Helm 3 to Helm 4.

Changes from 4.2.0

6. Known Problems and Limitations

The section lists only items related to migration from Helm 3 to Helm 4.

  1. UpgradeTool fails with "Can not create service ..." error.

    Workaround: Stop Helm 4 Refresh Service for the time of migration.

  2. Packages can not be imported twice.

  3. Default scripting extensions are not migrated from Helm 3 for ASP, Perl, Python and PHP. Helm 4 default values differ from the ones of Helm 3.

    Workaround: Use Helm 4 control panel interface to configure scripting extensions after migration.

  4. National characters aren't imported in notification text.
